The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction is around the corner and the players from different nations have already registered their names for the mega auction which is scheduled to be held on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru.

The deadline to register names for the mega auction was closed on January 20 following which, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Saturday released a detailed list of 1214 players that includes 270 capped, 903 uncapped and 41 associate nation players.

Players unavailable for IPL 2022 Auction

While some of the biggest names from the cricketing world have decided to go under the hammer, few have made themselves unavailable for this year’s mega auction.

West Indies explosive opening batter Chris Gayle, Australia pacer Mitchell Starc, England pacer Jofra Archer, England all-rounders Ben Stokes and Sam Curran have not registered their names for the mega auction ahead of the upcoming IPL 2022.

Mitchell Starc has been opting out of playing in the mega tournament to keep himself fresh for Australia in the white-ball formats. As for Curran, he wants to focus on rehabilitation to make his comeback to the England cricket team.

Lucknow & Ahmedabad Franchises announced their Draft Picks

Ahead of the mega auction, the two new franchises, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, announced their three draft picks each. While Lucknow picked KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi, Ahmedabad opted for Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill.
