Brief Scores: India vs Bangladesh, Third T20I â€“ IND 297/6 (Sanju Samson 111, Suryakumar Yadav 75, Tanzim Hasan 3/66) beat BAN 164/7 (Towhid Hridoy 63*, Litton Das 42, Ravi Bishnoi 3/31) by 133 runs.

In what was a dead rubber game, hosts India took on Bangladesh in the final T20I game at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad. The home team created slew of records and dominated the proceedings enroute to take the game by a massive margin of 133 runs.

Talking points: Sanju Samson’s return among runs is a huge positive

India, in the absence of regular openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, tried Sanju Samson at the top of the order in this series. Samson, a prolific IPL run getter has struggled at the international T20 level and didn’t have the best of starts, scoring 39 runs in two innings before this.

But in what would have been his final opportunity, the right-hander finally came good with a scintillating century. With this sublime knock, he proved his critics wrong and threw his hat for the vacant opening slot in T20Is.

Runs and records: Sanju Samson & Suryakumar Yadav show

After winning the toss, Suryakumar Yadav chose to bat first on a belter of a batting surface in Hyderabad. The move paid off for the hosts. Despite losing Abhishek Sharma early, they managed to cross 50 runs well within the fifth over and accumulated their joint highest powerplay score of 82.

Runs continued to flow from the bat of Suryakumar and Sanju Samson as India reached 100 runs in just 43 balls and 150 in mere 10 overs. In between all these, Samson brought up his maiden T20I ton in just 40 balls with the help of eight maximums (including five in the same over off Rishad Hossain) and the India skipper got his 21st T20I half-century.

Their 173-run stand along with fast-paced cameos from Hardik Pandya (47) and Riyan Parag (34) propelled India’s total to a massive 297.

Bishnoi and other bowlers power India to sensational win

In what would be a record-breaking chase, Bangladesh lost their opener Parvez Hossain on the first ball, thanks to a snorter from Mayank Yadav. They went hard at the powerplays, scoring 59/3 and brought up their 100 in the 11th over, courtesy of Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy.

Though Bangladesh produced their best batting effort on the tour, India bowlers led by Bishnoi chipped away with wickets. Hridoy was the lone bright spot for Bangladesh in this game as he made a well-compiled half-century, third of his career.
