After clinching the five-match T20I series by 3-1 in the fourth game, India emerged victorious in the fifth match and wrapped up the series by 4-1. The young India team displayed phenomenal performances throughout the series. Muskesh Kumar’s superb spell which included two wickets in a single over, turned the match in favor of India. Arshdeep Singh’s final over guided India to their fourth win of the series against Australia. Arshdeep kept his nerve under pressure and defended 10 runs in the last over. India finished the series on a high with a thrilling win.

Axar Patel’s all-round performance helped him become the player of the match. He played some tremendous shorts while batting and made an important contribution with both bat and bowl. Ravi Bishnoi’s spectacular show with the ball throughout the series assisted him to receive the Player of the Series award. He finished as the top wicket-taker in the series with 9 wickets.

Talking Point: India Bowlers stepped up to the occasion

The bowlers once again put on another impressive performance while defending such a low total that too in a difficult situation in Bangalore. India bowlers exploited a tacky pitch to the hilt to restrict Australia to 154/8. Mukesh Kumar and Arshdeep Singh stepped up in the pressure situation in the death overs and bowled magnificently to take India to their fourth victory in the series.

Shreyas Iyer’s 53-run knock guided India to a fightable total

Australia’s skipper won the toss and opted to bowl first in the final T20I. India had a sluggish start as Australia successfully removed both the openers in the powerplay. India got themselves in a sensitive position after losing a few quick wickets. Shreyas Iyer scored a gritty half-century on a difficult pitch where other batters failed to score big. He smashed 53 off 37 balls and found some support from Axar Patel and Jitesh Sharma in the middle overs. In the end, India managed to put on a safe score credit to Iyer and A. Patel. For Australia, Ben Dwarshuis and Behrendorff are the pick of the bowlers with two wickets each.

In the second innings, Australia got a brisk start but Mukesh Kumar was quick to break the opening partnership. Soon Australia lost a few more wickets and went 55/3. Shortly Ben McDermott took control and managed to pull on Australia from a tough situation with his blazing fifty. Nevertheless, India bowlers made a return soon as Arshdeep Singh clinched the big wicket of dangerous batter McDermott. Later, India’s bowlers displayed a marvelous show with the bowling in the death overs to stop Australia at 154 while defending a low score. Mukesh Kumar and Arshdeep’s splendid death over bowling guided India to a 4-1 series win.

Ben Dwarshuis impressive spell

Ben Dwarshuis displayed an impressive bowling performance against India in the fifth T20I. The Australia pacer took the prized wicket of India’s skipper Suryakumar Yadav to put his team in a good position. He also picked the crucial wicket of opener Ruturaj Gaikwad who was in prime form in the previous matches. The speedster finished with 2/30 in his four-over spell.

Shreyas Iyer played a dazzling knock of 53 runs in a tough situation. He scored a well-compiled fifty to take India to a compatible total. India couldn’t get the momentum since the start of the game but Shreyas Iyer managed to take control and played a helpful innings. He looked in good rhythm and his innings included some class shorts that were missing earlier in his T20I matches.

Axar Patel’s all-round show

Axar Patel once again proved himself in the tough situation with both bat and ball. He played a quick knock of 31 runs and supported Shreyas Iyer in the middle phase of the innings. Besides this, he took a pivotal wicket of Tim David. Axar was brilliant with the bowl as he was the most economical bowler of all.
